google should probably just give up on this and let amazon be the default music provider for android. I'm sure now that they have their amazon app store, amazon could easily expand that so it's the amazon music and app store for android with their whole cloud player app ecosystem. It's probably better that way anyway since google as company has ADD; they need to just focus on android core features and not get sidetracked trying to be a music/video store also. Google would probably keep an android music store in beta for years anyway. Let amazon fight with the music labels.

That's a very public beta which has been steadily improved over that time (the last update was yesterday). Unlike Apple, Adobe haven't charged for the beta experience. Amusingly, some of the top new Apple "innovations" are clones of Lightroom features.

In fact, now they have rebranded it Adobe "Photoshop" Darkroom, it leads me to believe it will be included as part of Photoshop and not as a seperate product. This might also be why they haven't released it yet, since the next version of Photoshop isn't finished. This strategy would undercut Apple since most photography professionals undoubtedly already own Photoshop and will upgrade.

To the contrary, and considering that Jobs seems to have an affinity to some Japanese aesthetic sensibilities, the "eating, sleeping, loving, and relaxing" imperative for family space presumes some degree of sharing of such spaces with no negative notion of "lesser". To make all such facilities that private makes them isolated, stifling the family-oriented intimacy of the desired imperative. Perhaps more so, the extra bedrooms get only part-time use, so there is no need to commit extensive resources full-time to serving each of them individually (see prior comments on why no library/gym/sauna/screening-room/etc.).

And people kept telling me that OSX and iOS weren't going to merge in any meaningful manner for years ahead, if ever. Yeah right. I'd bet the one after this has them nearly fully merged and I mean towards iOS for the most part. OSX will be dumbed down to the lowest common brain cell and you won't be able to get free/open software anymore. It'll have to come through the App Store or not at all. Wait and see. That is the point I'll be moving on.
This will happen eventually, but not just with Apple. All commercial OS's will go "closed". But not in 2-3 years, more like 10-15 or so. Your only chance for an open OS will be stuff like Linux then.

You said public perception overrides performance. I believe that in your case, specifically with the Inspire, that you are incorrect. The iPhone 4 is absolutely capable of outperforming the Inspire, especially in upload speeds. Theoretically the Inspire should trounce the iPhone 4 in download speeds but I have yet to see a speedtest or review that shows its download speeds at any level which the iPhone cannot match (over real world HSPA 7.2 speeds, which are consistently in the neighborhood or 3-6 Mbps depending on location and network congestion). The fastest Inspire 4G test I've seen was 4.5 Mbps, a download speed that the iPhone 4 reaches with extreme ease.
There are intangible elements involved in smartphone operating system preference and of course, people should buy what makes them happy. The fact is, people like the way iOS works. A lot of people do. There's a reason it's widely emulated. There are advantages and disadvantages to every phone and every OS - the iPhone 4 lacks some features that some people would value greatly (removable storage, replaceable battery, larger screen, hardware keyboard, OTA OS updates, ability to install applications from any site/APK) but personally (and this is key here, personally) I prefer its overall experience to that of Android and WP7. I have spent a great deal of time using an Android phone (HTC Droid Incredible) on a regular basis, as well as occasional use of an HTC HD7 (WP7), and I can say firmly that iOS and the iPhone 4 provide the best combination of high quality hardware (and superior battery life) and simple, efficient, and fast software.
My point is - it's not some mass-media brainwashing that makes people like (or even love) their iPhones. They are very nice phones running a very nice, mature operating system.

The main problem with the "slider" idea is that it wasn't intuitive which selection was active (since we're so used to a depressed icon indicating selection). I like the concept of a slider; it reminds me of the old tile games. Perhaps a compromise would have been to have the selected item's text glow, as if a little LED were behind it. That would have made it really clear which item was active.

I miss having a smaller portable laptop. I know they're exceeding specs with the 13" screen, but I'd really like to have an 8.5 x 11 sized laptop again. 13" is nice, but on a train or a plane it's always too big to work comfortably.
I don't use my laptop as my primary machine, if I have a lot of writing to do, I use my iMac. No ethernet could be an issue for business travelers, as not all hotels have wireless. I guess the answer to that is airport express, but is a smaller, not necessarily thinner, macbook THAT much to ask for?

Umm, that's still less than 1%. That's pretty good. That would be out of 100 million calls. 99 million calls were fine.
Not to mention the thousands and thousands of people purposely replicating the issue to show others how it can drop a call. I wonder how many dropped calls were during normal use. I know i've replicated it a few times but have dropped 1 call since launch. And that was in an area with sh***y reception.

That is reading too much into it. It's a game. Unlike Black Ops, it's storyline was linear. You had an idea of what was going on and why. Sure not everything made sense, but I repeat it is a game. For the sake of the storyline some things that don't make sense in real life will happen. There are tons of movies, tv shows, etc that have the same exact illogical things happening, but it isn't held against them unless it does get ridiculous which I didn't think MW2 did.

Well, people have hacked OSX to run on AMD computers, so I don't think many (if any) software changes would be necessary.
